Miyazaki fanart is... rare, so far as I've seen. As you said, his style is deceptively difficult to imitate. I've seen a LOT (relatively speaking) of fanart for "Spirited Away", a few for " Mononoke Hime", but that's really about it. A while ago, I stumbled upon an excellent piece devoted to "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", but that was one of the very few I have ever seen. His other movies (Castle In the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Go Panda, etc.) don't seem to have as large a fanbase as the first two (ie, the only two released in theaters).
Perhaps we're all simply too in awe of Miyazaki-sama to do anything other than drool over the art, characters, and stories? =^_^=
