Cheshire Hare up for adoption?

Summary: Hakuba goes back to England to visit family and Kaito tags along (in order to search for Pandora's Gem like the international jewel thief that he is), but the trip is interrupted when Hakuba's father receives an ominous phone call: one of their distant relatives is dead by poisoning, and next to the body of the late Earl Hargreaves is an inane and utterly maddening little bottle labeled "drink me".

Clip:

"Hakuba, you don't believe in ghosts, do you?" Kaito asked thoughtfully as they wandered down one of the elaborate halls in the Hargreaves mansion.

Hakuba shot his classmate a stoically exhasperated glance (as only Hakuba could pull off).

"No. Do I even want to know why you asked?"

Kaito stopped and crossed his arms, forcing the blonde to stop as well. Half-turned to face the other teen, Hakuba watched as Kaito watched back, head cocked to the side in a gesture oddly reminicent of a bird.

Finally, the magician confessed: "I think I just met Lord Hargreaves."

Hakuba frowned.

"Charles?"

Kaito looked almost sheepish. And was he fidgetting?

"No... Cain."

Hakuba's eyebrows arched. "Lord Cain?"

"Yes."

"The Earl of Poison?"

"Yes."

"Who's been dead for over a hundred years?"

"No, he looked pretty spry for a corpse... Hey... No... Hakuba! Don't walk away. I'm serious here...!"

2 = The name "Hargreaves" has been noted has a variation of "hare grove".

3 = The Jack the Ripper murders that Cain investigates takes place in 1888-1891, so if he was 17-ish at the time, then he'd be 136-139 years old by the time 2008 rolled around.
